Summer Baskets

I've wanted to have baskets like these for years and finally bought some from Garden Corner in Tualatin back in May. How did I manage to make them look so fabulous? Well, Garden Corner provides an instructional CD with every purchase so you too can have baskets like these. All it takes is the right food at the right time as well as a systemic bug killer and a spray bug killer. The baskets should last all the way into October. I'm so proud.

Our Latest Arrival

We have a new horse named Blade. His official registered name is Docs Remedy Blade. The name comes from his ancestry which is Doc Bar on both sides (far enough back...) and his sire is Lena's Diamond Chex who is by Doc Olena who is by Doc Bar. Very cool pedigree but he's only two and no idea yet how he'll be on a cow. We bought him to train him as a cutter and for working cow. So far he's a sweetheart and Etesian loves, and I mean loves, having a friend to hang out with all day.

Mike is a very proud Papa.

Horse Camp June 2006

I had a great time this year on the annual trip with Steve and Kaye. I bought Etesian from Steve three years ago now and we've been great friends ever since. We camped at Sheep Springs near Camp Sherman and rode a different section of the Windigo Trail each day for three days and practically had the whole area to ourselves. We saw a lot of deer but the area has yet to even begin to recover from the B&B fire from a few years ago.

Chukar chukar chukar

The latest in my "flock". These are chukar that were, in my opinion, "rescued" from a feed store. We're giving them antibiotics and electrolytes via their water supply, and after about a week they'll be set free.

Vintage Pics

I was going through old pics and found some that I thought deserved posting. Yes, I used to be blonde.

I'm second from the left in both pics below.

I'm the cute blonde with the big smile on her face. My sister Marisa is the darker haired one, my cousin Donna is on the right and the hoodlum looking boy in the middle is our neighbor Joey Persichetti.

Venezia May 2006

I visited Venice with my brother and his family while he was there for work. We had a marvelous time touring the canals and shopping for leather and anything else appealing. We also visited the islands Murano, Burano and Lido via public water bus. The food was a little disappointing because I was hoping for pastas and tortas but instead Venice specializes in fish, fish and fish. Breakfast, however, was great. Croissants and cappucino every morning with a view of the Grand Canal from the hotel deck.

Spring Chicks

Its time to add to my flock. The pics below are 5 new buff orpington pullets. They lay the best brown eggs.

Let it SNOW!

I LOVE the snow and Thursday morning, March 9 most of the metro area awoke to a winter wonderland.
